They say prevention is the greatest medicine and that knowledge is power. The Enhanced Healthy Living Panel offers the ability to combine both of these pieces of wisdom in order to optimize your health, no matter the age or individual.
The Enhanced Healthy Living Panel is often recommended to be done annually (or at the very least every two years) to assess trends and catch negative changes before they become symptomatic or problematic. The Enhanced
Healthy Living Panel tests for:
- Metabolic Function: including blood sugars, insulin and cholesterol levels
- Nutrient Levels: including vitamin D, B12, ferritin (iron) and folate
- Immune Function: a complete blood count also includes amounts and types of each immune cell, helping to determine or differentiate causes of immune stress, infections, allergic responses and so on
- Electrolyte Balance: including potassium, sodium and chloride
- Detoxification Function: this panel assesses for both liver enzymes (GGT, AST, ALT) and kidney function (creatinine and glomerular filtration rate [eGFR])
- Inflammation Levels: these would include erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
- Thyroid Function: this panel only includes thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH; not T3 or T4), but it is an important first step in assessing overall thyroid health
While the Enhanced Healthy Living Panel does not test for everything (hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and cortisol, are some notable omissions), it is a fantastic starting point for baseline information.
