IV therapy is an amazing therapy for our busy world. These nutrient-rich bags can help boost energy, improve immune function, calm anxieties, support effective metabolic function, improve liver function…. just to name a few. Plus, they are generally quick and easy in addition to helping you feel better, fast.
So what is IV Therapy?
Intravenous Therapy is a method of mixing sterile water or saline solution, with vitamins and minerals. Once the bag is compounded, a needle is inserted into the vein (don’t worry we take out the metal shaft and leave a flexible plastic tube) and the nutrients drip directly into the blood stream.
IV therapy allows for 100% of the nutrients to be absorbed and they are delivered right to the cells – where those nutrients are needed most.
What does an IV visit look like?
At the beginning and end of any IV bag, your blood pressure is done and your practitioner will do a quick check-in on how you are feeling that day. Once you are comfortable in our reclining chairs, a needle is inserted into the vein and an IV bag is connected. After that, you get to sit back and relax while the bag drips!
Depending on the type of treatment, it may take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour for the bag to drip. You should feel comfortable and (hopefully) relaxed this whole time.
Note: Before doing IV therapy, meeting with your ND to assess your liver and kidney function, as well as the goals of therapy is required.
When would someone want an IV?
IV therapy can be used for a variety of reasons but some of the common concerns include:
- Recurrently colds/flu’s/infections
- Fatigue or low energy
- Menstrual pain
- Poor digestive function
- Anxiety
- Fibromyalgia
- Elevated liver enzymes – Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Adjunctive cancer care
This winter if you’re in need of a boost, consider IV therapy. For more information, feel free to get in touch!

Hi there, I’m really curious about IV therapy. I work with 2 NDs currently, one specifically for fertility. Her practice is 100% virtual. I was wondering if you could potentially work with her to come up with a IV fit for me and my issues. I have early rheumatoid arthritis, quite bad raynauds and my main issue right now is trying to convince. My husband and I have had 5 miscarrages in the past 2 years and are also working with local fertility clinics. Please let me know if you think IV would benefit me. Thank you
